When it comes time to make some meaningful interior design decisions, the options are overwhelming. There are thousands upon thousands of combinations for any given room — you have to decide what furniture you want, what color paint would look best, what wall art would look best, and then you have to figure out how to make it all work together.
In times like this, you’ll surely be searching online and in person for great pieces of wall art. If you are, in fact, looking to revitalize your home or living space, metal signs are a fantastic choice.
We’re not going to pretend that we’re not a little biased — we are, after all, called The Metal Shack. However, we didn’t just start making metal signs because we thought it sounded cool. There are numerous benefits of choosing metal signs over traditional wall art.
Here are some advantages that are unique to metal signs.
Why You Should Consider Metal Signs as a Wall Art Choice
Metal Signs Are Not Easily Damaged
Have you ever bought a beautiful canvas piece, admiring how the elaborate artwork mixes with its rough texture? Have you ever proudly hung one on your wall, only to see it ruined some time later by an unexpected blow? Truly, there’s nothing worse than seeing a fine piece of artwork being ruined by a careless child, a stumbling adult, or some airborne object.
Unfortunately, most wall art pieces are susceptible to damage in one way or another. Wood can become chipped or weakened, canvasses can be torn, and so on.
Our metal signs, however, are resilient to the core. First off, it’s hard for them to fall off the wall due to their near-infinite amount of hanging points. Secondly, it takes metal against metal to scratch them, so unless you’re being exceedingly reckless, you’re unlikely to mark them. Third, they’re made of strong metal that doesn’t easily bend. Metal signs are durable and long-lasting, making them appealing choices for anyone who likes to maintain their decorations for long periods of time, or for those who often move.
Metal Signs Are Easy to Hang
We touched on this in the last point, but the gist of it is this — metal signs, at least the ones we sell at Metal Shack, are far easier to hang than most other pieces.
The reason for this is the unique shape of every single piece of wall art that we sell. Most of our signs are word art, custom cut to create the shapes of letters. This gives you an endless amount of options on how you want to mount it.
To hang our wall art, all you need is to have some sort of protrusion from your wall (such as a nail or a screw), and you can mount your sign on it any which way. Obviously, you’ll need as many screws or pins as are necessary to hold it up, but the point is that you have a lot of flexibility in how you choose to do it.
Metal Signs Are Easy to Transport and Store
While we’re veritably heartbroken over the idea of you putting one of our metal signs in the closet for prolonged periods of time, we understand that your interior design tastes may change from time to time, and sometimes it can be a nice change of pace to mix up your decorating style for a while. Of course, some decorations are just too good to get rid of, so you might want to put them into storage.
Our metal signs are great for this. One of the biggest advantages is that they don’t have any mounting modules sticking out, such as hooks — these can make mounting easy, and storage a nightmare.
However, our metal signs are completely flat, so they’re easy to lay on the ground or rest against a wall. You’ll have no problem laying it flush against the back of your closet and putting storage bins in front. Additionally, because it’s metal and durable, you won’t have to worry about it getting scratched or getting damaged while it’s in storage.
The same logic applies if you’re moving — one of the worst parts about moving is packing and transporting all of your fragile stuff and wall art usually falls into that category. Not metal signs!
Metal Signs Mix Well With Other Decorations
Sometimes, you find the perfect piece of wall art, only to realize that it clashes with everything else in your home. Good interior design means that your furniture and wall art mesh well together.
Our metal wall art comes in four different colors:
- Natural Metal (Silver)
The good thing about these? Metallic tones, particularly silver and black, are neutral colors that mix well with almost every color. They won’t always perfectly blend with everything, but in most cases, it’s hard to go wrong with silver and black. Copper and bronze are also highly flexible, so long as you have a few other elements in your room that match their tone.
No matter which one of our metal signs you choose, we know you’ll be able to find a way to make it mix well with your other interior design!
